Chamonix – Mont Blanc
Europe, Travels
Under the “Roof of the Europe”
Mont Blanc dream
4807 meters high Mont Blanc is the highest peak of Alps and the continental Europe. By the alpinists it’s called The White Mountain or The Roof of Europe, and it also belongs to the Crown of Europe – the list of the highest peaks in the continent, created by analogy with the Crown of the Earth or the Crown of the Himalayas.
The peak of Mont Blanc was reached for the first time 230 years ago. On August 8, 1786, two Frenchmens – Jacques Balmat and Dr Michel Paccard got on the top. Thousands of people have repeated their feat since then, and in each summer, every day, between 300 and 400 people are trying to get Mont Blanc. In 2016 we were one of them. Unfortunately this time we didn’t reach our dreams…
